Stamps on Wheel

It has been a very exciting afternoon overall, at least for me it has been. Fiskars released their new product line of Auto-Inking Continuous Stamp Wheel similar to Stampin’ Up’s stamp wheels. Fiskars also has built-in notches on the casing which allows you to easily see and align your image without the need of using a stamp ruler guide.

Unlike Stampin’ Up, the clear stamp is removable from the wheel to allow easy cleaning and stores flat which takes up less space and as a crafter we certainly can use every space available.

The stamps currently comes in one size which measures approximately 2.25×6.5″, hopefully as the product gains popularity they will offer more variety. Unlike Fiskars, Stampin’ Up offers standard and jumbo sizes wheels and builder wheel. However you will need to use stamp ruler guide and even then it is easy for your image to become off alignment. Also the Fiskars design provides a better grip to better apply equal pressure for continuous image. Image below was stamped without using a stamp ruler guide.

Using Stampin’ Up you really have to work at getting a continuous image. (you will be able to see top right corner is slightly off alignment) In addition, removing the stamp wheel is no walk in the park. Unlike Fiskars, Stampin’ Up employs the snap-on and snap-off method which I find myself using severe force in order to remove the stamp wheel.

Both these stamp wheels offers a quick way to stamp borders and backgrounds and/or larger size paper. Also ideal if you want to create your own scrapbooking papers. But I am giving the Fiskars continuous auto-inking stamp a 4 out of 5 stars because the stamp comes clear and I much preferred rubber stamps. For Stampin’ Up it’s 3 out of 5 stars due to the storage space it takes up and it’s pricey and not the most user friendly. Thanks for reading and join me next time when we make stickers!!
