When I discovered the Fiskars texture plates were compatible with the Cuttlebug I could not wait to test the plates with my Cuttlebug. The Fiskars 12-56597097 Texture Plate Assortment 2, 6-Pack features double sided designs and the design itself measures approximately 5.5×5.5”. To use these plates in conjunction with the Cuttlebug you will need a Spellbinders embossing pad (tan mat). Although through numerous research I stumbled on Splitcoaststampers discovering a rubber packing sheet, found at your local home improvement store, is just as capable as the embossing pad by Spellbinders and a less expensive route. If you are like me and prefer the deep embossed image, the texture plates are not etched deep enough to offer this but the embossing is noticeable enough.

In image A you can visibly view the emboss image appears less pronounced using the Fiskars plates

In image B the emboss image is very pronounced using the traditional embossing folders.
If you are not fussy about getting deep embossed images using the plates in conjunction with the Cuttlebug offers a quick way to achieve emboss images and much more frugal. Personally, I do prefer the deep embossed look and feel and the only reason I am rating it 4 out of 5 stars.
